Injection Molding
Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts from both thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic materials. Material is fed into a heated barrel, mixed, and forced into a mold cavity where it cools and hardens to the configuraton of the mold.
Benefits of injection molding include increased production rates, repeatable high tolerances, ability to use a wide variety of materials, low labor costs, minimal scrap losses and little parts finishing after molding.
Injection molding is used to produce the Gemstar™ line of cases.
Benefits to choosing Gemstar for your injection molding needs include:
• Finished products with greater dimensional stability
• Repeatability within tolerances

• Molded in features such as hinges and latches

• Little to no finishing of parts

• Allows for access to a wider range of engineer grade
materials than can be used in other processes

• High production rates
