Rotationally molded custom plastic cases

Rotational Molding

Rotational Molding or rotomolding, as it is sometimes called, is a versatile process for creating unique, extremely tough parts in one-piece construction. Dry, powdered plastic is introduced into a closed mold and heated while rotating bi-axially. After cooling, the part is de-molded and ready for secondary operations.

Benefits to choosing Gemstar
for your Rotational Molding needs include:

• Unique shapes in one-piece construction

• Rugged, stress-free parts

• The ability to integrate metal parts and graphics

• Faster tooling to production timeframe

• Small and large volume production

• Full scale secondary fabrication and assembly

Additional Advantages

Rotational molding of hard plastic cases Rotational Molding offers design advantages over other molding processes. Parts previously assembled from several pieces can now be molded as one part, eliminating high fabrication costs. The process also has inherent design strengths, such as consistent wall thickness and strong outside corners that are virtually stress-free. Additionally, the ability to integrate metal parts and graphics into the final product is a feature of the process. Rotational molding is especially effective for the manufacture of heavy duty shipping cases and other custom plastic cases.
